HAIR: wave craze

ASIAN FRO
100% pure filipino blood, born and raised.
Canadian since 1994. Yupp, I'm a FOB! Well, not literally..
I posted this picture on my Facebook page a couple of months ago
and I've been getting a lot of questions on how to achieve such cray hairstyle.
Well, today is your lucky day cause I will tell you how! =)

CLAMP & SPRAY
After washing and drying your hair, here's what you'll need.
STEP 1. BioSilk's Therapy: adds shine to you hair and can also
be used as a heat protectant. A little goes a long way so
don't put too much or it'll make your hair appear oily.
STEP 2. Clamp your hair into sections using hair claws. If you
have thicker hair like me, crimp a small section at a time.
If you have thinner hair, you may crimp a larger section.
STEP 3. Use a 3 barrel waver to crimp your hair. Start by
the hair closest to your roots. This will add more volume
to your hair. Remember to keep the wave consistent
by following the sequence of your waves. This may
be achieved by over lapping a segment of the waves.
STEP 4. Finally, finish it off by using your favorite hairspray.
I suggest not running your fingers through your hair
unless you want bigger and more voluminous hair.

GOOD TO GO
I know it would have been so much easier if I just posted a hair
tutorial video but I'm still fairly new at this whole blogging thing.. I might
try to attempt vlogging and hair/make-up tutorial some other time.
Anywho, here are more pics of my asian fro!
I love how it looks like a lot of work when
it really only took me about 10 to 15 minutes to do!

Hope y'all enjoyed my uber short and easy hair blog-tutorial!

WIFEABLE: i can cook sinigang

LIVE LOVE EAT
As skinny as I am, I'm sure it's almost hard to believe that I even eat at all.
Well, you stereotypical and judgmental people you- I actually eat more
than you think! Have you ever wondered how in the world the skinny little asian
woman beat the bearded fat dude at an eating contest? Like, where do they
stuff all the food?! All I can say is thank you mom and dad for my awesome

metabolism! Anyway, I made this filipino dish called Sinigang last night!

WATCH AND LEARN

ET VOILA!
Supper is served! My dad says I cook just like mom, but slightly better.. Shhhh! ;)
No but in all seriousness, I think my mom is greatest cook in the world. She
can cook anything from anything and she always makes sure that her family
is satisfied. If anyone would tell me my cooking taste as close as my mom's,
I'd take that as huge compliment! Hope y'all enjoyed this short and sweet
food tutorial! Happy cooking! =)

FASHION: burberry prorsum

THINKING FORWARD
How I wish I can just skip the winter wonderland and fast forward
to Spring and Summer already! I know it may sound as though I am
a winter hater but believe me when I say that I actually enjoy it.
After all, I am a winter baby! If there is one thing about winter I am not
crazy about, it would probably be the fashion. Winter in Canada is so
unbearably freezing, I'd be crazy if I even dare to wear a skirt outside.
At this point, my main concern would be to survive!

BURBERRY PRORSUM SPRING/SUMMER 2012
Toronto Fashion Week really got it good when Christopher Bailey (designer)
showed off his impressive Spring/Summer collection for 2012. Not only
are his designs very wearable but they are also quite versitille. Every piece
can be worn alone or paired up with almost anything.

I absolutely love these combinations! This look is so simple and easy to put together
yet still remains very fashion forward. The patterned sweaters are perfect for spring
or on cool summer night. They would also look great with a pair of high-waisted trouser.

Just look at these beautiful dresses! I love the designer's choice of color
but mosly the shape of the dresses. The belt gives it that hourglass shape while
the flowyness of the skirt creates a more fun and playful look. I would totally
wear these and I am sure they would look great on any body shape.

Here is one of my favorite looks from the collection! I absolutely love
this high-waisted statement skirt. It's so gorgeous!

Lest not forget about the male collection. It may not be suitable for every man but it just
comes to show how the look can be dressed up or down by simply changing the jacket.

ALMOST TWINZIES

hidden market

FRUIT & VEGGIE HEAVEN
For those of you who personally know me, you would agree that one
thing I love more than anything in the world is food! Forget about fast-food
restaurants and inexpensive buffets- I'm talking about the fresh-and-delicious
type of food! Sundays are usually our fill-up-the-fridge day. I mostly like to do
sunday shopping at a local grocery store but ever since I got introduced to
my mom's favorite indoor market, I think I am converting! And maybe you should to!

SAMI FRUITS
1550 boulevard Daniel-Johnson, Laval, Quebec. H7V 3V7
Also located in Montreal and Lasalle.

Just decks on decks of fruits and veggies. Everything is super inexpensive
and fresh! I was amazed to see how much produce they carry.

Red plum. So crunchy and delicious!

Avocados! They are 3 for 2$. I love them as a snack with a glass of milk!

Pineapples were 2,99$ each! They usually charge about 5$ at the grocery store.

My favorite kind of apples are green apples because they're sour!

Fresh red italian tomatoes! Great on salads and sandwiches.

In the middle of the market, they have a fruits stand where they
make freshly squeezed fruit juice and 100% fruit smoothie! They also
sell pre-cut fruits and veggies with dip to go!

Here are cantaloup and banana smoothie, strawberry and watermelon
smoothie, blueberry and raspberry smoothie. =)

I bought an avocado and a carrot smoothie for my mom and I.
Only 2$ each!

The avocado one is so smooth and refreshing! I would have
love it to be a little colder though but whatever.

They also sell nuts and dried fruits!

This is outside of the market. They have a little stall where you can purchase
corn on the cob and BBQ'ed corn for 1$! The BBQ'ed corn was sooo good!

She also sells roasted chestnut! They smell amazing!

ALL SET FOR THE WEEK
We literally filled the cart to the top and our bill only came up to 50$!
I swear I couldn't believe my eyes! If we were to buy these fruits & veggies
at a local grocery store, we would have probably paid double the price!
Sami Fruits is seriously the way to go! We got 3 huge bags of carrots for 5$.
I like to grind them in the juicer to make fresh carrot juice! So healthy and
delicious! One tip though, make sure you come early. This place was packed
by 2 PM! I nearly fainted by the grape stall.

Until next time,

mid-twenties

BIRTHDAY GIRL!
Yeyy! Happy birthday to meee! Wohoo! What an amazing day! =)
This morning, I woke up to many greets on FB, twitter and texts
from family and friends. I feel super blessed to have so many people
who care and love me. I am very grateful for every single person who
is in my life right now. I wouldn't change anything for the world!

THREE WISHES
I don't consider of myself as a super materialistic type of person-
I mean don't get me wrong, I do like my clothes and my shoes
but I never asked for anything expensive for my birthday.
But if I could have three wishes, I'd wish for younger, healthier
and flawless looking skin forever! One thing I am afraid of is
wrinkly-damaged skin. Seriously, I get worried just thinking about it!
I'll do anything to get good skin!

 SKIN CARE FOR 20+
Women in their 20s usually start developing mature skin. Whether it may be
due to pollution, chemicals from make-ups and skin products or sunburn, this
is the time where a woman's skin gets the most exposure. Therefore,
it is best to have the proper skin care to maintain younger looking skin
and prevent the development of fine lines and wrinkles.
The 3 most vital skin care regimen for 20+ would be (1) a mild cleanser,
(2) a moisturizer with antioxidant and (3) a great sunscreen.
Here are some products I swear by!
(1) Cleanser: Johnson&Johnson head-to-toe body wash 7$, Clinique Wash-Away Gel Cleanser 26$, Philosophy Purity Facial Cleanser 32$ (2) Moisturizer: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer 36$, 100% Pure Cosmetics Organic Pomegranate Antioxidant with SPF 20 26$, Philosophy Hope in a Jar moisturizer 38$ (3) Sunscreen: Vichy Capital Soleil SPF  50+ 6$, Aveeno Positively Ageless Sunblock SPF 50 12$
*I use Johnson's Head-to-toe as a cleanser, Clinique Dramatically Different as a moisturizer and Aveeno Positively Ageless with SPF 50 for my daily regimen.

NOW OR NEVER
It is never too early to start a routine for your skin. In fact, it is recommended
to start as early as 18 to allow your skin to get used to the regimen
and to prevent the development of pre-mature aging. In addition,
it is also important to have a good balanced diet that is low-fat and
rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, drink at least 8 glasses of water
to keep your skin well hydrated, and good living habits.

Hope this was helpful to some of you!
Until next time,
